Upheavals

Who are you to think, that after all you’ve been through, that you won’t make it this time? You’ve gone through so much in life already, of course, this is just the next thing. It’s no bigger, no smaller, but you ARE stronger, and wiser, and more experienced, and you know you will of course come out the other side. There is no other choice.
I am the calm amidst the storm. Serenity is the calm amidst the chaos. I walk now, the storm raging around me, trees falling, waves from the sea lashing against the shore, storm clouds gathering. And I walk, holding the light, anchoring it for all to see.

Adaptability. Resilience.

Fruits and squash grow alongside train tracks, or on steep slopes. Rice farms are planted wherever they can fit. Even my neighbours tend to the unruly bamboo to harvest its shoots in the rainy season, and harvest the bamboo itself for poles and furniture.
No matter the regime changes, no matter the global climate, no matter the word “pandemic” seeps through and across TV channels and cellphone screens.
They adapt. They stand strong.

Dive Through Anyway

Fear. It’s a topic that’s been cropping up a lot lately.
What can you do when fear crops up in your life? You may not realize it yet, but you have options.
Of course, this isn’t just about swimming in strong currents. This applies to anything. That conversation you’ve been avoiding, that move you want to make, practicing a new language, trying a new activity, speaking up for yourself. Remember to come from a place of love. A place of trust. Remember that everything you’ve ever been through has brought you to this moment, and that’s it’s only by going through this next scary thing, and trusting yourself, that you can grow and learn and step forward in your life.

What Brushing Your Teeth and Sobriety Have in Common

So, you want to get healthy? Put healthy food in your body today. Go for a walk today. Say no to junk food today. Maybe try a new, fun exercise today. You don’t have to commit to it for life. Just try it out today. And if it feels good, maybe tomorrow you’ll wake up and try it again. And bit by bit, you may notice how you have a little more energy than you’re used to. How you haven’t felt down so much lately, or how things are starting to look up, or how your self-esteem has improved a bit, or hey: a number of days have piled up together, and doesn’t THAT feel good!

Creatures of Habit

It seems so much easier to maintain and practice bad habits than it is to practice good habits. Why is that? Let us focus our energy and time on replacing those bad habits with good ones.
